Brush of fate – part 3

The sound of my feet rustling the leaves below me inspires a smile on my face as I grab your hand and proceed. We walk together, this autumn night. We walk together, this moonlit night. I can feel my toes dampen through my trainers as you tell me I should have worn wellies. I smile as you shake your head silently, but your lips form a smile as we move on.

As we gaze above, our eyes fall on the full moon. Time stops for a while as we both embrace the moment. Our fingers entwined, our hands clasped together, the two of us, and the full moon. We find a spot where we can have a good sight and sit down, talking away the hours. Simple things, lovely things, petty things, major things. My arms around her shoulder or waist to offer her the warmth I could. Her head softly resting on my shoulders as she gazes at my hand in the moon light.

Do you believe in the magic of the moon? She asks me…

I look into her eyes and wonder. Do I??? I can see the moon sparkle within her eyes. I look up again and give her arms a gentle brush as she gets comfortable in the gentle embrace.

I do… I whisper softly, perhaps adding unneeded drama to my response.

She perks up and looks at me. I can see hundreds of thoughts running through her eyes.

What? I ask her!

You do… don’t you? The light in her eyes forms a mischievous smile, as I wonder what she thinks.

If I could have seen myself at that moment in time, I know very well that I would have been blushing. As I felt the passion of the moment overtake the last bit of sanity I had, I saw her lean into me, her deep eyes gazing within the depths of my soul. I lowered my lips and found hers, as we embraced in a never ending kiss. Once again, twice in the same night, time stopped.

Only this time, it was not in my mind. It happened for real!
